Trey Page went 6-0 last week, helping the Tigers knock off No. 9 Central Oklahoma in a dual before winning the 285 pound title at the Bob Smith Open on Sunday. Â
In the UCO dual, Page made quick work of his opponent in the final match of the evening, taking down John Finn in the first period before turning and sticking the 285-pounder in 2:19. Â
At the Bob Smith Open, Page picked up five wins (including three technical falls) en route to the championship. Page's first tech fall came by shutout, a 16-0 victory over Oscar Soto (NW Kansas Tech). From there, Page (285) posted another shutout, taking down Shawn Beeson of NE Oklahoma A&M, 15-0. His third and final tech fall of the day was another shutout (17-0) over Riley Fielder (Oklahoma City). In the semifinal, Page's match with Tuli Laulu (Adams State) was a narrow 5-3 decision, but the senior heavyweight returned to his dominant ways in the finals, knocking off Ivan DeLeon (Nebraska-Kearney) by major decision, 13-3.
