Monterio Burchfield helped the Tigers to a 31-24 comeback victory over Central Oklahoma Saturday evening (Sept. 16). Burchfield accumulated a season-high 217 receiving yards on eight receptions and one touchdown. His 64-yard touchdown reception from Jacob Mezera proved to be the game-winning score that sealed the win for FHSU. He also had the key reception on Fort Hays State's game-tying drive moments earlier, rising over his defender for a 40-yard reception on 3rd-and-12 to put FHSU in field goal range. Burchfield averaged 27.1 yards per catch and helped push Mezera past the 400-yard passing mark for the game.
