Michaelanne Nelson helped the Tigers cap off their 2019 season with a 4-4 week, including sweeps over Central Christian (Kan.) College (April 23) and Nebraska-Kearney (April 27). Nelson produced a 1.84 earned run average with a 1-2 record in four appearances and 19 innings of work and picked up her first save of the season. Nelson continued a string of strong performances in the pitching circle by limiting UNK to just one earned run. She tossed her fourth-consecutive complete game as a starter, striking out three batters. Nelson also held opponents to no more than one earned run in seven of her last nine starts of the season.
