Anthony Sheppard earned Athlete of the Week honors after helping the FHSU football team to a 38-21 win over Central Oklahoma on the road in Edmond, Okla. on Saturday.
Sheppard, a junior quarterback from Pahokee, Fla., made his second start of the season as the signal caller for the Tigers. On the Tigers first drive, Sheppard ran 60-yards for a touchdown to give FHSU an early 7-0 lead. Sheppard added two touchdown passes to go with the touchdown run, throwing a 36-yard touchdown pass to Keaton Callins and a 49-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Smith, both in the second quarter.
Sheppard finished the game 15-of-24 for 227 yards passing and the two touchdowns. On the ground, Sheppard rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown, giving him 320 yards of total offense.
The Tigers are now 3-5 on the season, including 2-2 on the road. FHSU plays at Washburn on Saturday before playing their final two games at home against Missouri Southern and Missouri Western.
