The big blow for the Ichabods came on a trick play out of the wildcat formation, in which Dane Simoneau connected with Brody Schuler for a 51-yard touchdown pass. That put Washburn up 38-17. That was too much of a gap for the Tigers to recover from.

James Walker and
O.J. Murdock.
Beau Gadwood led the Tiger receivers with nine catches for 103 yards. He became the first tight end in Fort Hays State's NCAA Division II history with 100 yards receiving in a game. Garrison also ran for a team-high 76 yards in the game, giving him 380 yards of total offense. He had the only rushing touchdown for the Tigers.
Washburn quarterback Dane Simoneau threw for 222 yards on 11-of-21 passing with three touchdowns. Vershon Moore was a force on the ground for the Ichabods with 171 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.
Four Tigers tied for the team lead in tackles with nine, including
Seth Blackwell,
Michael Walker,
Alex Whitehill, and
Nick Dreitz.
Jacob Crossman had the only sack for FHSU and two tackles for loss.
The Tigers are at home again next week when they host Central Missouri, Oct. 9. Game time is set for 2 pm at Lewis Field Stadium. The game will be broadcast on television through the MIAA Network.
