Box Score 2 The Fort Hays State volleyball team was in action on Saturday (Oct. 1) at the UTPB Volleyball Classic in Odessa, Texas. The Tigers got a pair of victories on the tournament's second day, downing Oklahoma-Panhandle State in three sets and Texas-Permian Basin in five.

Fort Hays State took little time to dispose of Panhandle State for the second time this season. The Tigers took advantage of several hitting errors by the Lady Aggies, who had a negative hitting percentage in two of the match's three sets.
Madison Schwartz continued her strong play at the tournament, finishing with 10 kills to lead the Tigers.
Kayla Zoglman led the team with 28 assists, while
Tracie Hileman had a team-high 20 digs.

The final match of the weekend was a battle that saw the Tigers come from behind to down the Falcons of UTPB. After taking the first set 25-20, FHSU hit less than .100 in the second and third set to fall behind. They bounced back in the fourth to tie the match up at two sets apiece and carried that momentum into the fifth set where they finished the Falcons off 15-10. Schwartz had her fourth straight match with double figure kills, leading the Tigers with 18.
Sara Hewson added 15, while
Jenna Ulrich put down 12. Hewson also had 25 digs to lead the team, while Zoglman had a match-high 51 assists.
Fort Hays State moves to 12-7 on the year and they will return to conference action on Friday (Oct. 7) at Missouri Southern.
