The Fort Hays State women's soccer team allowed a late goal, falling 1-0 to Truman on Saturday (Oct. 1) at the FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays. The game was the first home MIAA conference match for the Tigers, dropping FHSU to 0-2 in early conference play.
The Bulldogs of Truman scored the only goal of the game in the 75 minute, as Kelsey Twellman took a shot from 18 yards that found the left side of the goal.
Visiting Truman controlled the play of the game, tallying 12 shots in the game, including seven in the second half. The Tigers managed just one shot in the 90 minutes of play.
Kelsey Grey went all 90 minutes in goal for the Tigers, allowing the one goal while making three saves. The freshman from Littleton, Colo. dropped to 3-5-1 on the season.
The Tigers fell to 3-5-1 in their first season and 0-2 in MIAA play. FHSU continues MIAA action on Tuesday (Oct. 4) when Southwest Baptist travels to the FHSU Soccer Stadium for a 4 p.m. contest.
