The Fort Hays State women's soccer team returns home to the FHSU Soccer Stadium (Oct. 13) for a conference game at 6 p.m. The Tigers take on No. 12 Central Missouri, last season's MIAA conference champions. FHSU seeks to win their first home MIAA match, as the Tigers won their lone conference game last week at Emporia State (3-2). Fort Hays is 4-7-1 on the season, their first season of soccer in school history.
Last week, the Tigers notched their first MIAA win this season and in their short program history. FHSU scored three goals in less than eight minutes en route to a 3-2 victory on the road against Emporia State. The three goals tied a season-high for the Tigers.
FHSU suffered two heartbreaking losses last week in conference play. On the road at Missouri Southern, the Tigers allowed a late goal by the Lions with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation to tie the game, before falling in overtime in just two minutes of extra time. The Tigers only home game of last week saw FHSU fall, 3-1, to Southwest Baptist. The visiting Bearcats scored twice 30 seconds apart late in the first half, which ended up being the difference in the 3-1 SBU win.
Although the Tigers went just 1-2 last week, the Tigers had some strong performances.
Joanne Glynn added to her team-leading goal and point totals, scoring two goals during the week for a total of six on the season. She also has 13 points (six goals, one assist) this season. Second-leading scorer
Cindy Benitez added a goal to give her three on the season to go with her four assists. Two Tigers scored their first goals in a black and gold uniform.

Hailey Davey notched their first career goals as Tigers. Andres added two assists on the week, while Davey had an assist as well.
The Central Missouri Jennies come to Hays ranked No 12 in the nation. The Jennies have an 11-1 record and are 4-0 in the MIAA. UCM has currently won nine straight games, allowing one goal during the streak. For the season, the Jennies average 2.75 goals a game and allow just 0.25 goals a game. UCM averages 22 shots a game, while allowing four from their opponents. The Jennies scored 33 goals thus far and allowed a total of three goals all season, including two in their only loss to Dallas Baptist.
The Jennies strong offense is led by senior Alyssa Rhodes, who scored a team-high eight goals in 12 games. She adds three assists. Sophomore Becky Lackey is another strong offensive threat, totaling six goals and one assist on the season. Freshman Nicki Wisnasky adds five goals on the season from her forward position. Sophomore defender Carly Stanley leads the team with seven assists and adds three goals.
Sophomore Brooke Cooley is the Jennies starting goalkeeper, making 11 starts in their 12 games. Cooley is allowing 0.27 goals a game and has a .885 saves percentage. In almost 1,000 minutes of play, Cooley has allowed just three goals. Her record is 11-1 on the season for the Jennies.
After Thursday game, the Tigers return to the road for two straight games, their last road games of the season. FHSU finishes the season with a three-game homestand.
