The Fort Hays State Tiger men's soccer team defeated Sterling College, 2-0, on the road in Sterling, Kan. on Tuesday night. FHSU dominated the game, controlling the possession most of the game. The Tigers scored one goal in each half for the 2-0 win on the road.
Jared Bailey put the Tigers on top early in the third minute of the game, going far post to beat the Sterling College goalkeeper. A pass from
Ricardo Yeverino set up the Bailey goal.
FHSU tallied their second goal in the second half, scoring in the 69
th minute on a goal by
Adrian Ramirez on a cross by
Tomas Mares.
Goalkeeper
Kent Freund made his second start of the season, winning his second game in goal. Freund made two saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Tigers had their opportunities to score, totaling 22 shots compared to six from the host Warriors.
FHSU upped their record to 5-2-1 on the season. The Tigers travel to Truman on Oct. 7 for a 3 p.m. contest.
