Game Notes I Watch Live I Listen Live

**Live stats are not available for Lincoln home games.

The Fort Hays State football team looks to snap a three-game losing skid on Saturday at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo. The game is set to kickoff at 2 pm. Fort Hays State and Lincoln each enter at 1-3 overall on the season, but FHSU is 1-2 in the MIAA and Lincoln is winless at 0-3.

The Tigers are on the road for the second consecutive week after falling to the top ranked team in NCAA Division II last week, Northwest Missouri State, by a score of 70-17. The Tigers look to rebound against a Lincoln team that has struggled mightily against MIAA opponents so far, allowing 65.0 points per game in their three conference losses. Lincoln has yet to hold an MIAA opponent under 56 points this year, with 73 allowed to Northwest Missouri State being the highest total.

This will be the seventh meeting in the all-time series with Lincoln, with FHSU leading 4-2. The last meeting between the schools occurred in 1987 with FHSU winning 55-14. Fort Hays State won the last three meetings.

Fort Hays State continues to have one of the most potent rushing attacks in the nation. The Tigers are averaging 222.0 yards per game on the ground. Andre Smith accounts for more than half that average at 115.8 yards per game, which leads the MIAA and ranks 14th nationally. He leads the MIAA and ranks seventh in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (187.5). Edward Smith is fifth in the MIAA in rushing at 79.3 per game. Fort Hays State ranks 26th in NCAA Division II for rushing yards per game.

Seniors Alex Whitehill and Korey Allison have been the leaders on defense thus far. Whitehill continues to lead NCAA Division II in tackles with 62, averaging 15.5 per game. He has seven more tackles than any other player in Division II. Allison is the second-leading tackler on the team with 39, averaging 9.8 per contest. He is tied for third in the MIAA in tackles per game. Allison is responsible for three of the seven turnovers forced out of opponents this year with two interceptions and one forced fumble. The pair is combining to average 25.3 tackles per game.

Punter Ethan Kosjer continues to rank third nationally in punting average at 44.4 yards per punt. Kosjer is averaging 42.1 yards per punt in his career, which is currently on pace to break the school record for career average of 41.4 held by Adam Ryan.

Fort Hays State will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak on the road, which dates back to the first road game of the 2010 season. The last road win for FHSU was in 2009 at Missouri Southern in the season finale.
