Three 2nd Half Goals Propel Tigers to 3-1 Win over NWMSU

Box Score After a scoreless first half, FHSU scored three second half goals to win 3-1 over Northwest Missouri State on Saturday (Oct. 13) at the FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays. The Tigers moved to 8-5-1 and 4-4-1 in the MIAA, while NWMSU dropped to 7-4-3 and 5-2-2 in the MIAA.
 
The Tigers pushed out to a 2-0 margin with two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Jordan Hester started the Tiger scoring with a goal in the 49th minute, her sixth of the season, as Joanne Glynn passed her a nice through ball that Hester put in. A Cindy Benitez header off a cross from Alexis Aiman gave the Tigers the 2-0 lead in the 55th minute.
 
In the 79th minute, Margaret Meier made it 3-0 as she kicked in a loose ball in the box, her second goal of the season.
 
The Bearcats ended the Tigers shutout in the 84th minute when Anna Holden knocked in a cross.
 
Rachael Schaad made six saves and allowed the one goal for FHSU. She improved to 3-3 in goal on the season.
 
The Tigers hit the road for two MIAA matches next weekend. FHSU faces Truman on Friday (Oct. 19) at 12 p.m. then takes on Lindenwood on Sunday (Oct. 21) at 12 p.m.
