The Fort Hays State women's soccer team ends the regular season this weekend with two home matches. The Tigers play the first of a doubleheader with the men's team on Friday (Oct. 26) with a match against Nebraska-Kearney at 6 p.m. FHSU finishes the regular season with Senior Day against Western State on Sunday (Oct. 28) at 11 a.m.

Sade Humphrey; midfielders
Cindy Benitez,
Bethany Keefer and
Nicole Randall; and defenders
Kacy Hale and
Stefanie Wiesen.
The Tigers are 9-6-1 and 5-5-1 in the MIAA, which places FHSU in a tie for fifth with Northeastern State. The Tigers can clinch a spot in the MIAA tournament with a win this weekend over Nebraska-Kearney. Last week, FHSU went 1-1 in two MIAA road matches. The Tigers started the week with an impressive 2-1 win over Truman on the road. FHSU fell, 2-1, to Lindenwood to end the week. The three Tiger goals came from three freshmen.
Alexis Aiman and
Jordan Hester scored in the 2-1 win over Truman, and
Kylie Watson scored the only Tiger goal in the 2-1 loss to Lindenwood.
With the goal this weekend, Hester leads the team with seven goals. Senior
Sade Humphrey is second on the team with six goals. Aiman adds four goals and a team-high seven assists. Freshman goalkeeper
Rachael Schaad made both starts last weekend, allowing three goals and making six saves. On the season, Schaad is 4-4 with a 1.10 goals against average and two shutouts.
Nebraska-Kearney is 9-6-2 and 4-5-2 in the MIAA, which ranks them eighth in the conference. The Lopers have won three-straight matches with wins over Missouri Western (2-1 2OT), Lindenwood (3-2) and Truman (1-0). The pair of Montanna Hosterman and Becka Talcott lead the Lopers with four goals each. Tara Knowlton and Ashtin Pawloski lead in assists with four apiece. Marissa Niday has made 17 starts in goal, allowing 1.52 goals a match with a .713 save percentage.
Western State is 1-13 and is in its first year of women's soccer, and WSCU is coached by former FHSU assistant coach Jeremy Clevenger. The Mountaineers are fresh off their one win, defeating Washburn, 2-1, in Topeka in their last match. Elyza Montano leads the offense with three goals, and Sadie Stark, who scored the two goals in the win over WU, and Jessica Arellano both add two goals on the season.
