The No. 13-ranked Tiger men's soccer program hosts the Days Inn FHSU Soccer Classic this Friday (Sept. 7) and Sunday (Sept. 9) at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. The four team event features Colorado Mesa, Northeastern State, Sioux Falls and Fort Hays State.
 
Colorado Mesa and No. 20 Northeastern State start the Days Inn FHSU Soccer Classic with a 3:30 p.m. matchup on Friday. Following a women's match against Midland University at 6 p.m., the Tiger men's team plays Sioux Falls at 8:30 p.m. The match is the first ever meeting between the two schools. The Cougars are 0-1, falling to William Jewell, 6-1, in their season opener.
 
Northeastern State and Sioux Falls start the action on Sunday at 10 a.m. Fort Hays State plays Colorado Mesa in the tournament finale at 12:30 p.m. in the first meeting between the two programs. The Mavericks are 1-0-1 this season, defeating Dixie state College, 1-0, and tying Cal State-San Bernardino, 1-1.
 
FHSU, which is in its second season of men's soccer, is 2-0 and entered the national rankings for the first time in school history this week at No. 13 in the first regular season poll. The Tigers received votes in the preseason rankings.
 
Following the Days Inn FHSU Soccer Classic, the Tigers start MIAA play on the road at Southern Nazarene on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
