The Fort Hays State women's soccer team pushed its win streak to three games with a 2-0 win over Midland University on Friday evening (Sept. 7) at FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays. Fort Hays State will enter MIAA play at 3-1 overall.
Jordan Hester put the Lady Tigers on the board early with a goal in the 8th minute on a nice feed from
Cindy Benitez. That would be the only goal of the first half. FHSU held Midland to no shots in the first half.
Benitez would extend the lead for the Tigers in the 66th minute of the second half with a goal on the rebound off a
Bethany Keefer shot. Keefer got the assist for her effort.
Nicole Barnaba picked up her second shutout win in goal. She saved six shots, all in the second half. FHSU outshot Midland 20-9 in the game.
Fort Hays State hosts defending conference champion Central Missouri in its first MIAA contest of the season on Friday, September 14 at 6 pm.
