Friday Live Stats - at Missouri Western, 7 pm
Sunday Live Stats - at NW Missouri State, 11 am
The Fort Hays State women's soccer team enters a crucial two-match road swing in conference play this weekend. The Tigers are at Missouri Western on Friday night (Oct. 18), then at Northwest Missouri State on Sunday (Oct. 20). Fort Hays State is 5-7-2 overall and 1-4-2 in the MIAA and sits four points back of seventh in the MIAA standings in the race to qualify for the MIAA Tournament.
The Tigers currently have five points and sit in 11th in the MIAA standings. The top eight teams in the conference make the MIAA Tournament at the end of the season, which the Tigers won last year as the No. 6 seed. Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist are currently tied for seventh in the standings with nine points each.
Three of the final four regular season matches for Fort Hays State are against teams that are ninth or lower in the standings. Friday's opponent, Missouri Western, has zero points at 0-6 in conference play, and Sunday's opponent, Northwest Missouri State, is just ahead of FHSU with six points at 2-4 in the conference.
A pair of wins on the road this weekend could push the Tigers back into the thick of the conference tournament race and even up their overall win-loss record for the season.
