Box Score The Fort Hays State University women's soccer team battled, but ultimately fell, 1-0, to Nebraska-Kearney in the season finale on Friday night.
 
The Tigers end their season at 7-8-3 (3-5-3 MIAA), failing to make the MIAA postseason after Central Oklahoma's win earlier in the day pushed FHSU to ninth in the conference standings.
 
FHSU fired seven shots in the game and withstood all but one of UNK's 12 shots, playing even with the Lopers (8-8-2, 5-4-2 MIAA) until the final eight minutes of regulation.
 
At 81:42, UNK's Becka Talcott took a shot from 30 yards out that deflected into the goal, giving UNK the advantage.
 
Jordan Hester led the Tigers with three shots on the day, while Dani Harris, Amanda Talbott, Kylee Loneker and Margaret Meier each had one shot.  Hester, Harris and Talbott put shots on goal in the game.
