College Meet Records and 2012 Champions

Fort Hays State track and field hosts the 20th-annual Alex Francis Classic on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 29-30) at Lewis Field Stadium in Hays. Action gets underway on Friday afternoon with several college throwing events, then several college distance events begin at 7 pm on the track. On Saturday, action is set to start at 11 am with both college and high school portions of the meet running simultaneously.

In 2012, 11 men's and 10 women's collegiate teams competed at the Alex Francis Classic, while six high schools participated for both boys and girls. The Fort Hays State men and women were both victorious as teams last year, while Hays High School topped both the boys and girls team standings last year.

Fort Hays State athletes set three new meet records last year, which included Sam Szczublewski in the women's 800 meters (2:17.67), Makayla McPhail in the women's javelin (152'3") and Alex Hendee in the men's 5,000 meters (14:56.39).
