Fort Hays State women's soccer hosts two conference opponents this weekend at FHSU Soccer Stadium. FHSU is set to take on Northwest Missouri State on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a Sunday matchup with Missouri Western at noon.

FHSU (6-4-2, 4-2-2 MIAA) picked up a 1-0 win against Northeastern State last Friday before drawing with Central Oklahoma 0-0 in two overtimes. Â The Tigers are fourth in the MIAA standings thus far, and with six games to go, will look to finish strong in hopes of hosting a possible first-round game of the MIAA Championships.

Kelsey Steffens leads the team with ten points (four goals, two assists) this season, earning her latest goal (a game-winner) in Friday's matchup against Northeastern State.
Hailey Davey has a team-high five assists on the year and has added two goals for nine points, while
Jordan Hester, third on the team with eight points, has four goals.

Gabrielle Makatura (1,150 minutes) and
Jamie Babyak (1,129 minutes) each passed the 1,100-minute mark during Sunday's contest, and lead the team in minutes played. The Tigers' defense has allowed just nine goals on the season and has limited opponents to a .066 shot percentage.

Kristen Thompson recorded eight saves in Sunday's game against Central Oklahoma, tying her season-high of saves in a single game. She was named MIAA Co-Goalkeeper of the Week after her strong play last weekend, posting two shutouts with 11 saves. She now has seven shutouts and has 58 saves on the year.

NWMSU (6-5-1, 3-4-1 MIAA) sits eighth in the MIAA standings and is currently holding the final conference tournament spot. The Bearcats are led offensively by Ashley Cole (four goals) and Jessica Spradley (three goals), while Crystal McElhose and Anna Holden each have two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Ashley Malloy has started all 12 games and has recorded 71 saves on the season.

MWSU (7-4-1, 4-3-1 MIAA) has won four straight 1-0 contests, and sits fifth in conference standings, one spot behind FHSU. Tara Russell leads the team with three goals and two assists, tied with Sydney Cluck (one goal) for the team lead in assists. Cluck's four points is third on the team behind Russell (eight points) and K.C. Ramsell (five points), who has two goals and one assist on the season. In the net, Sarah Lyle has played all 12 games, allowing six goals (0.48 per game) with 61 saves.
