Women's Soccer

Tigers head east to face Lindenwood, No. 13 Central Missouri

Fort Hays State Women's Soccer travels east to Lindenwood and Central Missouri this weekend to continue MIAA play.  The Tigers take on the Lions on Friday (Oct. 3) at 7:30 p.m., before closing out the weekend against the 13th-ranked Central Missouri on Sunday (Oct. 5) at 1 p.m.
 
FHSU (4-3-1, 2-1-1 MIAA) split last weekend, dropping a 2-1 contest to Southwest Baptist before shutting out Missouri Southern, 1-0.  The victory was the Tigers' first over MSSU in program history.  For the year, Fort Hays State has scored 13 goals in eight games, averaging 1.53 per game.
 
Hailey Davey's nine points (two goals, five assists) leads the team, while Kelsey Steffens is close behind with three goals and two assists (eight points).  Jordan Shaw picked up her first assist of the season last weekend against MSSU, and has scored three times for seven points on the year.
 
Cenayda Guzman scored twice for the Tigers last weekend, tallying a goal in both games, including the game-winner against MSSU.
 
Defensively, Mallory Diederich has played a team-high 765 minutes on the year, just ahead of Jamie Babyak's 744 minutes.  Diederich and Babyak have joined Hannah Smith and Gabrielle Makatura as defenders to start all eight games this season for FHSU.
 
Kristen Thompson has played every minute in the net for FHSU this season (764:44), allowing seven goals (0.82 per game) with 44 saves on the year.
 
Lindenwood (3-3-2, 2-1-1 MIAA) has scored seven goals on the year, led by Miranda Huebner, who has two (four points). Melissa Weiss (six starts) and Lauren Groathouse (two starts) have split time in goal, with Weiss allowing six goals with 25 saves in a majority of time in net (580 minutes).
 
Central Missouri (7-0-1, 4-0-0 MIAA) is the lone nationally ranked team in the MIAA, and has outscored opponents 20-4 through eight games.  Three Jennies have 10 points for the year, as Alex Yockey (five goals), Julie Ireland (four goals, two assists) and Hannah Pyle (two goals, six assists) lead the team.  Ana Dilkes has played the entire season in goal for UCM, picking up 20 saves with a 0.49 goals against average.
