Fort Hays State pushed its win streak to seven with a 94-44 victory over non-conference opponent Missouri Valley College on Sunday (Dec. 14).

FHSU shot over 45 percent (46.7 percent) for the sixth time in the previous seven games, finishing 35-of-75 from the field and 6-of-14 from beyond the arc. At the line, FHSU hit 18 of its 24 attempted free throws (75 percent). The Tigers limited the Vikings to just 15 field goals on the day (25.4 percent), forcing 18 turnovers and scoring 21 points off turnovers. The Tigers also made the most of their offensive rebounds, outscoring MVC 19-8 in second chance points. The Tigers (8-1, 2-0 MIAA) never trailed, starting the game with eight unanswered before growing the lead to 19-6 just six minutes in. Soon after, another 8-0 burst for the Tigers brought the half inside the 12-minute mark with the Tigers ahead, 27-8. Though MVC responded with a three-pointer to shrink the deficit back to 16 (27-11 at 11:06), the Tigers started another run just two minutes later, when a three-pointer from
Chelsea Mason sparked the Tigers on a 10-0 burst.   Over the final six minutes of the half, FHSU continued to grow its lead – heading to the pause with a 29 point lead, 48-19.

Out of the break, FHSU opened the final half on an 8-2 run (including six points from
Kate Lehman), but MVC responded to with seven unanswered of its own to bring the Tigers' lead back inside 30 (56-28 at 16:06). The Tigers, however, ran off another eight straight, ending the run on a layup from Lehman at 14:33 with the Tigers ahead, 64-28.

Over the next 10 minutes, MVC and the Tigers traded buckets before FHSU closed the game on a 15-3 run (with
Payton Hoeme scoring six points in the span) for a 50-point spread.

Lehman recorded her third straight double-double (and fifth of the season), adding 28 points with 11 rebounds for her sixth 20-plus scoring performance of the year. Lehman also added seven blocks while shooting 10-of-13 on field goals.Â

Elle Stein put together her first double-double in a Tiger uniform with 11 points and 10 rebounds, playing 15 minutes off the bench for FHSU. Stein and Lehman were joined in double-digit scoring by Mason, who had 16 points to break the 10-point threshold for the third consecutive contest.

Beth Bohuslavsky dished out five assists and picked up three steals (both team highs) for the day.
