Fort Hays State rolled to its sixth consecutive win on Saturday (Dec. 6), defeating Missouri Western, 81-59, in a conference matchup at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The Tigers (7-1, 2-0 MIAA) shot well for the day, hitting 46.7 percent of its field goals (28-of-60) and three-point field goals (7-of-15). On the defensive end, FHSU came up with eight steals while forcing 19 MWSU turnovers, taking advantage of the Griffons' miscues with 28 points off turnovers.

FHSU never trailed, opening the game on a 12-4 run before the Griffons cut the lead to three with a 5-0 run (12-9 at 14:32). The Tigers pushed the lead to 10 over the next five minutes, closing the span on an 8-1 run that saw
Kate Lehman move into double-digits for the day as FHSU led, 24-14 with 9:52 on the clock.

Up 12 (34-22) around the six-minute mark, a layup from
Beth Bohuslavsky started a burst of six unanswered as part of a 9-2 run for FHSU that brought the half inside three minutes to go – giving the Tigers a 41-24. The teams closed the half with back and forth play, sending the game to a pause at 45-28.

Though MWSU opened the final half on a 5-2 run (cutting the deficit to 14), a jumper from Bohuslavsky at 17:28 started a 12-3 run for FHSU that lasted over just under three minutes and moved the Tigers' lead to 23 (59-36) with around 13 to play. Soon after (11:25), the Griffons answered with a big run of its own, outscoring FHSU 11-2 over the next 4:56, but it was too late for MWSU as the Tigers closed the game on a 14-6 run to keep its winning streak alive.Â

Lehman finished the game with her fourth double-double of the season, leading the team in points (22) and rebounds (12) while adding three blocks. Mason continued her hot shooting from long range, hitting 5-of-8 on three-pointers to finish with 20 points. It was Mason's second consecutive 20-point effort.Â

Beth Bohuslavsky put together a career day, scoring 18 points as the third Tiger in double-digits while dishing out six assists to move past the career 200-mark in that category. Bohuslavsky was 6-of-9 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.

Paige Lunsford's three steals led the Tigers, grabbing six rebounds as well to match Mason on the boards.

FHSU is idle until Sunday, Dec. 14 when it hosts Missouri Valley State for a non-conference matchup at 2 p.m.
