Fort Hays State looks to continue its hot start with two road games this weekend in Colorado. FHSU takes on Colorado State-Pueblo this Friday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 pm MT/6:30 pm CT, followed by a matchup with the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 11 am MT/12 pm CT.

FHSU (2-0) outscored its opponents 8-1 last week, defeating No. 21 Southwest Minnesota State 4-1, and Sioux Falls, 4-0, on the road.

Jordan Hester, named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9, led the team with three goals (six points) on the weekend, scoring two against SMSU and one versus USF.  Hester is followed closely for the team lead in points by Hailey Davey and Kelsey Steffens, who each have five.

Davey scored once against SMSU and had three assists against USF, breaking a school record for assists in a game.  Steffens had one assist in her collegiate debut versus SMSU, following it up with two goals against USF.

Both two goal performances for Hester and Steffens tied a school record for goals in one game, while Hester also tied the school record for goals in a half.

Jordan Shaw scored goals in both games last weekend and is fourth on the team with four points.

Defensively, the Tigers allowed just 14 shots (eight on goal) on the weekend, only two of which versus Sioux Falls.  Mallory Diederich played all 180 minutes in the Tiger backfield for the weekend.

Between the pipes, redshirt-freshman Kristen Thopmson started both games, posting one shutout.  Thompson played all 90 minutes in both games, tallying seven saves and allowing one goal.

CSU-Pueblo (1-1) is led offensively by Kacie Licata (one goal, two assists) and Amanda Jorgenson (one goal, one assist), while goalkeepers Jenn Rucker and Kim Smith have split time over the first two games.  Rucker has played a majority of the time (118:18) and allowed three goals with five saves, while Smith has allowed two goals with five saves in 58 minutes of game play.

UC-Colorado Springs (0-2) scored just one goal in the first weekend of play, credited to Michaela Mansfield (two points for the year).  McKenzie Oliver leads the team with one assist.  Grace Ramsden played all 180 minutes in the net for the Mountain Lions, allowing eight goals with 16 saves.
