Fort Hays State football hosts Lindenwood on Saturday (Sept. 20) in the annual Tailgreat game at Lewis Field Stadium. Kickoff if set for 7 pm. Both the Tigers and Lions enter the game at 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the MIAA. FHSU is looking for its eighth win in its last 10 games dating back to last season.
After a 48-13 win at Northeastern State last week, the Tigers are looking for their first win at home this year. FHSU fell in the season opener at home two weeks ago to Central Oklahoma, one of only three teams to remain unbeaten in the MIAA. The Tigers are looking to be above .500 overall through three games for the first time in
Chris Brown's time as head coach. FHSU is also looking for its first win over Lindenwood in Hays. The all-time series history between the schools has been brief, tied 1-1, with the visiting team winning each of those contests. FHSU defeated Lindenwood 31-17 last year in St. Charles, Mo.
Lindenwood won its season opener on the road at Washburn by a score of 44-38, but then fell last week to No. 8 Pittsburg State at home by a score of 37-7.
Gaining just 181 yards of total offense in the season opener, the Tigers had a huge improvement in that area last week with 408 total yards. Turnovers were also key, as the Tigers turned the RiverHawks over four times and gave the ball away just once. The Tigers are 7-1 in their last eight games in which they won the turnover margin.
Treveon Albert was utilized in multiple roles last week, generating 197 yards with 149 passing and 24 rushing yards at quarterback, and 24 more yards receiving. He had a hand in five touchdowns, three passing and two rushing.
Ed Williams had the second 100-yard receiving game of his Tiger career, catching eight passes for 113 yards.

Drew O'Brien earned MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week by generating 12 points off kicking (2 field goals, 6 extra-points) and averaged 44.7 yards per punt. O'Brien leads the MIAA in punting overall, averaging 48 yards per attempt this year.
