The FHSU women's soccer team will play two non-conference matches this weekend against very familiar foes. The Tigers will take on Nebraska-Kearney on Friday (Sept. 18) at 7 pm and Emporia State on Sunday (Sept. 20) at 2 pm.
There are three four-team pods in the MIAA for women's soccer. Fort Hays State's pod includes Nebraska-Kearney, Emporia State, and Washburn. The first of two contests against each school inside a pod this year will be considered non-conference matches.
The Tigers are currently 1-3 on the season, but hope to even the mark once the weekend draws to an end.

Kylee Loneker lead FHSU with one goal a piece on the season.
Kearney-Nebraska heads into the weekend toting a 1-1-2 record on the season. The Lopers have outscored their opponents 6-5 and have posted 44 shots thus far. Evie Sintek is the leading scorer for UNK with two goals on the season.
Emporia State has posted a 3-1-1 record so far in 2015. The Hornets have outscored opponents 9-3 on the season and goalkeeper Yadira Rivera has chipped in with two shutouts as well. The leading scorer for the Hornets is Amelie Heun, who comes into the weekend with four goals.
