The Fort Hays State men's soccer team looks to get back on track after seeing their seven match winning streak snapped last weekend, traveling to Bismarck, N.D. on Sunday (Oct. 22) to take on the University of Mary for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Tigers (7-5-2, 5-1 MIAA) will face off with the Marauders for the fourth time in program history. Fort Hays State currently holds a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Tigers defeated U-Mary twice last season, securing a 6-1 road victory (9/25/16) before capturing a 3-0 shutout win in Hays (10/15/16).

The Tigers offense ranks in the top 20 in Division II in four offensive categories as they are eighth in total assists with 30 on the season, 13th in total points on the year with 96, 16th in assists per match (2.14) and 17th in total goals this season (33). The Tigers lead the MIAA in corner kick per match (5.07), goals per match (2.36), total goals, assists per match, total assists, shots per match (14.5) and points per match (6.86).

Derick Gonzalez has been a consistent offensive threat for the Tigers as he ranks second in the nation in total assists (10), fifth in assists per match (.71), 12th in total points (26), and 25th in points per match. Gonzalez looks to extend his program-record streak of 11 consecutive matches tallying a point. He also ranks first in the conference in total points, assists per match and total assists.

The Marauders enter the match at 6-5-1 overall and are riding a three match winning streak. Joel McIlroy has been the top offensive weapon for the Marauders as he has scored six goals on the year. He leads them in nearly every offensive category, including goals, points, shots, shots on goal and game-winning goals.
