FHSU Women's Soccer looks to snap a two-game losing skid on the road this week as they travel to Central Missouri on Friday (Oct. 15) for a match at 7 pm, then head to Missouri Southern on Sunday (Oct. 17) for a 2 pm start.
The Tigers are 4-5-3 (1-4 MIAA) after dropping two matches in Hays last week, each by a count of 1-0. Seniors Amanda Rapuduski and Jordan Thompson lead the Tigers in scoring with three goals apiece. The women have outscored opponents 13-8 so far this season and average 14 shots per game. Seven different Tigers have at least one goal. The Tiger defense has been solid this season posting five clean sheets and goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock has 53 saves so far this season.
The Jennies, ranked No. 17 nationally, are 10-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the MIAA. UCM is fresh off of 3-1 victory over Central Oklahoma on Sunday. They have outscored opponents 31-13 so far and average over 18 shots per game. The Lions are 2-8-2 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA with their most recent match ending in a defeat by Newman 1-0. The Lions are averaging 13 shots per game and have 78 total saves this season. They will host Nebraska-Kearney Friday before facing the Tigers on Sunday.
The Tigers are 2-11 against the Jennies all-time with the last win coming in 2015 in Hays by a score of 2-1. The Tigers' only victory in Warrensburg occurred back in 2012 by a 2-1 count in double overtime to win the MIAA Tournament and qualify for the NCAA National Tournament. The all-time series with MSSU sits at 5-2-3 in favor of FHSU with the last match ending in a 3-0 win for the Tigers in Hays. The Tigers have not lost to the Lions since 2012.
