Fort Hays State Men's Soccer hosts Rogers State on Thursday (Oct. 21) with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 pm at FHSU Soccer Stadium. The Tigers defeated the Hillcats 3-1 in Claremore to open up conference play back in September. The Hillcats were ranked No. 23 at the time of that meeting. The Tigers have an 8-4-1 overall record, while the Hillcats are 9-3-1 overall. Both are 5-2 in conference play going into Thursday's match.
The Tigers are fresh off of a sweep of Newman last week with a 4-3 win in Wichita and 5-1 win in Hays. Senior Blake Arndt leads the Tigers with six goals and Taisei Arima is close behind with five after scoring three goals in the two games against Newman. After struggling to just just two goals or less in their first six matches, the Tigers have scored three or more goals in four of their last seven contests. The Tigers are now averaging 2.2 goals per match on the season.
The Hillcats have had an impressive run, entering this match as winners of five straight. Rogers State has scored 23 goals this season, while allowing only 11. The Hillcat defense allows just over 10 shots per match.
The Tigers are 3-1-2 all-time against the Hillcats. Rogers State has not played in Hays since 2019 and the Hillcats have yet to win a match at FHSU Soccer Stadium.
