The FHSU Women's Soccer team heads to Oklahoma this week as they take on Rogers State on Friday (Oct. 22) at 6:30 pm, then make their way to Tahlequah to take on Northeastern State on Sunday October (Oct. 24) with kickoff scheduled for 1 pm. The Tigers will battle for a spot in the MIAA Tournament over the last two weeks of conference play.
FHSU (5-6-3, 2-5 MIAA) is fresh off of a 1-0 victory at Missouri Southern last Sunday. That win could be key when the dust settles from conference play in a couple of weeks as FHSU and MSSU are tied in the standings for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament. The Tigers have put up 16 goals this season as Amanda Rapaduski leads the way with four, while Alex Hutton and Jordan Thompson each have three. The Fort Hays defense has only allowed 12 goals this season behind 64 saves from goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock.
Rogers State (6-7-1, 1-6 MIAA) lost 2-0 to Missouri Western on Sunday. They are averaging a little over one goal per match with 18 on the season. The Tigers and the Hillcats met for the first time in 2019, which ended in a scoreless tie. This will be the first time the Tigers officially play in Claremore (the teams met in Claremore during the 2021 spring exhibition season when stats and results did not count per decision by the MIAA administrators and coaches).
Northeastern State (6-6-3, 3-3-1 MIAA) is fresh off of a 2-1 win over Northwest Missouri State on Sunday. The RiverHawks have compiled 81 saves this season and are allowing just under 13 shots per match. The Tigers are 3-6 against the RiverHawks all-time with the last match ending in a 1-0 defeat in Hays back in 2019. The matchups between these two teams have been notoriously close as the largest margin of victory occurred in the first meeting when NSU won 3-1.
Live video and live stats will be available for both matches. Â
