The Fort Hays State Men's Soccer team plays its final two road contests of the 2021 regular season when they travel to Arkansas this week. The Tigers take on Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia on Thursday (Oct. 28) at 3 pm, then wrap up the trip in Searcy on Saturday at Harding with kickoff at 1 pm. The Tigers look to remain in the control of their own destiny in a quest to win a second GAC regular season title in three years.
The Tigers, 8-4-2 (5-2-1 GAC) are fresh off of a scoreless tie with then No. 25 ranked Rogers State on October 21. FHSU is currently averaging two goals per match and Blake Arndt leads the team with six goals. Goalkeeper Kieran Brown has been solid in goal this season allowing just under one goal per match with 52 saves.
Ouachita Baptist, 2-9-2 (2-6-1 GAC) upset Southern Nazarene 2-1 last week before dropping its next match to Northeastern State 1-0. OBU has only scored 12 goals this season. The last battle of the Tigers ended in a 7-1 victory for Fort Hays at home earlier this season in Hays. The all-time series sits at 3-0-1 in favor of FHSU. Fort Hays State has not played in Arkadelphia since the very first meeting back in 2019 that ended in a 2-2 draw.
Harding, 2-6-2 (2-4-2 GAC) is fresh off of a 3-2 victory over Southern Nazarene last week. The Bisons have scored only eight goals this season and are averaging only nine shots per match. The Bisons upset FHSU earlier this season in Hays by a score of 2-1 for their first win all-time against the Tigers. FHSU is 10-1 against Harding all-time. This will be the Tigers' first trip to Searcy since 2019.
