Fort Hays State Women's Soccer wraps up its regular season this week. They travel north to take on Nebraska-Kearney on Friday (Oct. 29) at 6 pm, then return home to host Washburn on Sunday (Oct. 31) at 1 pm for Senior Day at FHSU Soccer Stadium. The Tigers are fighting for a spot in the MIAA Tournament, currently tied for eighth in the MIAA standings with Rogers State.
The Tigers, 6-7-3 (3-6 MIAA), are fresh off of a 1-0 victory at Northeastern State on Sunday. Amanda Rapaduski leads the Tigers in scoring with five goals as she added another in last week's win. Goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock has 75 saves on the year and has just an 0.84 goals against average.
Nebraska-Kearney, 2-14 (1-8 MIAA), is fresh off of a pair of shutout losses to Northeastern State and Rogers State, 3-0 and 2-0 respectively. The Lopers have scored only seven goals this season compared to 37 by opponents. The Tigers are 12-3-1 all-time against the Lopers with the last match ending 3-0 in favor of the Tigers earlier this season in Hays. The last time the Lopers defeated the Tigers was a 1-0 golden goal victory back in 2017.
Washburn, 8-5-2, (4-4-1 MIAA) split last week dropping their Friday match 2-1 to then No. 8 ranked Central Missouri, then won 1-0 over Missouri Southern on Sunday. The Ichabods are outscoring opponents this season 22-19 and have compiled 73 saves on the season. The Tigers lead the all-time series 10-5-2 with the last meeting ending in a 1-1 tie in Topeka earlier this season.
