The FHSU women's soccer team will travel to Warrensburg, Mo. on Sunday (Nov. 7) to face off with #17 Central Missouri in their MIAA quarterfinal match. The Jennies held off the Tigers comeback attempt in their last meeting earlier this season ending in a 4-2 final score. The Tigers finished the regular season 8-7-3 overall and 5-6 in the MIAA and the Jennies ended as regular season champions with a 15-2-1 overall record and a 9-1-1 mark in conference play.

The Tigers overcame Washburn on Sunday on their Senior Day 2-0 to claim the No. 8 seed in the tournament. The Tiger defense has been phenomenal this season, allowing only 15 goals during the regular season with eight shutouts, seven of which were wins. Jordan Thompson and Alex Hutton have both scored four goals this season, while All-MIAA Second Team selection Emily Hutchings leads the team in assists with five. All-MIAA Third Team goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock has had a stellar season, leading the MIAA in goals against average (0.80), save percentage (.849), and shutouts (7) at the end of the regular season. A big factor in helping Wellbrock to those numbers has been a strong defensive back line, led by All-MIAA Third Team selection Reilly Madden.

The Jennies are fresh off of two shutout victories over Missouri Southern and Missouri Western last week, while totaling seven goals. Central Missouri has 51 goals this season, while allowing 21 to opponents. The Tigers are looking for their first win over the Jennies since 2015. The last time the Tigers defeated the Jennies in Warrensburg was for the 2012 MIAA Tournament Championship with a 2-1 golden goal win in overtime.
