The Fort Hays State women's soccer team opens the 2021 season this Friday (Sept. 3) against the Augustana Vikings with kickoff scheduled now adjusted to 5:30 p.m. due to weather forecasted. They will then play the first opener of a men's and women's doubleheader at noon on Sunday (Sept. 5) against Sioux Falls. Both games will be played at FHSU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers played an unofficial season last spring and compiled a 5-4-1 record in the MIAA. Amanda Rapuduski led the Tigers with four goals through ten matches. Defensively, the Tigers allowed less than one goal per game (0.8) while averaging 1.3 goals per game. Reilly Madden and Macy Decker were able to earn First and Second Team All-MIAA Honors this spring, respectively. The Tigers also added nine newcomers to their roster including four forwards, two defenders, two goalkeepers, and one midfielder.

The Augustana Vikings did not play a 2020 season, but they finished the 2019 season 16-5-1 and 12-2-1 in the NSIC, posting the second-most wins in program history. The Tigers are 0-1-1 all-time against the Vikings, dropping the most recent match in 2019 in Sioux Falls. This is Augustana's first trip to play the Tigers in Hays.

The Sioux Falls Cougars also did not play a 2020 season, but finished the 2019 season 4-13-1 and 4-10-1 in the NSIC. They compiled a .629 shots on goal percentage on 124 total shots and scored fifteen total goals that season. The Tigers are currently 3-0 against the Cougars, including a 3-0 victory in Hays back in 2013.
