The FHSU Women's Soccer team will be at home this week hosting two MIAA matches. On Friday (Oct. 1) the Tigers will face the Bronchos from Central Oklahoma with kickoff scheduled for 6 pm, then on Sunday (Oct. 3) face the Jets from Newman University with kickoff scheduled for 1 pm.

The Tigers are looking to bounce back this week after losing at No. 5 Emporia State by a score of 1-0. Heavy wind was a huge factor as both teams combined for only 11 shots. Four Tigers are tied for the team lead in scoring with two goals each, which includes Alex Hutton, Amanda Rapuduski, Jordan Thompson, and Carly Walker. The Tigers have outscored opponents 10-4 this season while compiling a 3-2-3 record. The Tiger defense has been impressive with four clean sheets this season (3 shutout wins and one scoreless tie) and goalkeeper Deonna Wellbrock has posted 36 saves so far this season.

The Bronchos have a 5-2-1 (1-0 MIAA) record so far this season as they won their conference opener last week against Northeastern State by a score of 1-0. They have outscored opponents 19-10 so far this season. The Jets are 0-5-1 overall (0-2 MIAA) as they dropped their most recent match 2-1 at Rogers State. They are averaging 9.3 shots per game.

The Tigers are 4-8-1 against the Bronchos all-time with the last match ending in a 3-0 defeat in Edmond. At home, the Tigers are 2-1-1 in the series. The Tigers have won all three matches in history against the Jets, the last two being in Wichita. The Jets have not played in Hays since 2011, when the Tigers emerged victorious 1-0.
