The Fort Hays State Women's Soccer team begins their 2022 season on the road as they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. for a pair of matches. The Tigers will face Sioux Falls for their season opener on Friday (Aug. 26) at 2 p.m. before taking on Augustana on Sunday (Aug. 28) with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m.

The Tigers return 14 players to the pitch this season while welcoming 11 newcomers in head coach Tyson John's first season at the helm. FHSU managed an 8-8-3 overall record and a 4-6 mark in the MIAA last season, which earned a spot in the MIAA Tournament. Last season, the Tigers outscored opponents 25-18, while putting almost half of their shots on target with a .480 shot on goal percentage. The MIAA Coaches' Poll has the Tigers ranked seventh entering the 2022 season.

The Sioux Falls Cougars finished 2021 at 3-11-4 overall and 3-8-4 in the NSIC. The Cougars compiled over 180 saves last season, while also posting nearly a .700 shot on goal percentage. The Tigers lead the all-time series 4-0 against the Cougars with the last matchup ending in a 2-0 victory at FHSU Soccer Stadium in 2021.

The Augustana Vikings wrapped up the 2021 season as regular season and tournament runner-up in the NSICposting an overall record of 14-4-2 and achieving a mark of 12-1-2 in conference play. The Vikings averaged 2.3 goals per match and outscored their opponents 46-20. The all-time series between FHSU and AU sits at 1-1-1 with the last contest leaning in favor of the Tigers 3-0 in 2021.
