WARRENSBURG, Mo. - After scoring at least four runs in each of the last seven games, the offense for the Fort Hays State baseball team was muted on Friday (April 28), with fourth-ranked Central Missouri taking the series opener, 9-1.

The first 19 batters FHSU sent to the plate were retired, with
Isaiah Ural finally breaking through with a one-out single in the seventh. He later came in to score on a sacrifice fly from
Elliott Herrmann, making the score 5-1 after the Mules scored four runs in the third and one in the fifth.

The home team added four insurance runs in the final two innings, while the Tigers were able to reach base in both the eighth and ninth but were unable to scrape a run across.

Ural picked up two of FHSU's four base hits, with
Emile Boies and
Zach Davis each adding singles.
Zach Berg (4-5) suffered the loss after going 6.1 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits and zero walks. UCM's Conner Wolf (8-3) earned the win after striking out six and allowing one run on two hits over seven frames.

The Tigers and Mules will continue the series Saturday (April 29) at 2 p.m. before wrapping up the regular season Sunday (April 30) afternoon at 1 p.m.
