The Fort Hays State track and field teams enter postseason competition this weekend (May 5-7) with the 2023 MIAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.

The multi-athletes will kick things off on Friday with day one of the heptathlon and decathlon beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday's action begins at 10 a.m. with day two of the multis before select field event finals begin at noon. Action on the track starts at 4:30 p.m. with prelims of most races and finals in the 3,000m steeplechase and 10,000m run. Sunday's action is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. in the field and 1:30 p.m. on the track.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids on Saturday and Sunday, with multi-day passes also available for $15. Admission on Friday for day one of the multis is free. Live video is scheduled to be available on the MIAA Network each day for $10 or $25 for the full weekend. Live results will also be available online here.

The Tiger women enter the conference championship ranked 13th nationally according to the latest USTFCCCA NCAA DII National Rating Index. They sit in third place in the MIAA computerized rankings while slotting fifth in the central region. The Tiger men are 37th national, sixth in the league and eighth in the region.

Fort Hays State sports six event squads that rank in top 10 in DII, including the top-ranked women's 400m hurdles group. The men's 800m team and the women's javelin crew both rank fourth, while the men's javelin and the women's 100m hurdles squads are each 6th nationally. Finally, the men pole vault assembly ranks 7th in the division.

The Tiger women finished fourth at the league championships a year ago while the men were fifth in the league outdoors. FHSU returns seven All-MIAA honorees from last season, including

Fort Hays State student-athletes have recorded 30 national qualifying marks so far this season, including 10 that rank inside the top 20 in NCAA DII this season.
