The Fort Hays State women's soccer team continues a four-match homestand this week hosting Northwest Missouri State on Friday (Oct. 18) at 7 p.m. and No. 20 ranked Missouri Western on Sunday (Oct. 20) at 2 p.m. The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 win over Newman to start their homestand this past Sunday.
Taylor Hill and
Allison Worley lead the Tigers in points with seven each, producing three goals and one assist on the season.
Sydney Cotter also has three goals for the season.
Sullivan Kelly leads the Tigers with 3 assists, while
Gracen Chaney and
Emily Hutchings each have two this season.
Northwest Missouri State enters Friday at 5-2-5 overall and 3-1-2 in the MIAA. The Bearcats are currently tied for fourth place in the conference with 11 points. The Bearcats are coming off a 2-0 win over Rogers State last Sunday. The lone conference loss for the Bearcats was to conference leader Missouri Western. The Tigers lead the all-time series with a record of 9-2-1. Fort Hays State has won the last two meetings against the Bearcats by a score of 1-0. The last Tiger loss against the Bearcats at home was in 2021 when the match went to double overtime.
Missouri Western comes into the matchup with a record of 11-0-1 overall and 6-0 in the MIAA. The Griffons are ranked No. 20 in the nation and have a 10-match win streak entering the week. MWSU will play at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday before heading to Hays on Sunday. The Griffons have posted four-straight shutouts and have seven overall. Their lone tie this year was with Northern State (S.D.) in the second match of the season. The Tigers lead the all-time series with a record of 10-2-4. The last matchup ended in a 2-2 draw in 2023. The Tigers are 6-1-3 at home against the Griffons.
