The Fort Hays State women's soccer team heads to Oklahoma this week for a pair of MIAA matches. The Tigers first play Northeastern State on Friday (Nov. 1) at 7 p.m., then Rogers State on Sunday (Nov. 3) at 11:15 a.m. FHSU continues to seek a potential berth in the eight-team MIAA Tournament field, currently sitting in sixth place in the conference standings.
Fort Hays State is 7-4-4 on the season and 4-3-2 in conference play. Freshman
Taylor Hill leads the team in points with 11 on five goals and an assist this year. Senior
Allison Worley is right behind with 10 points on four goals and two assists.
Sullivan Kelly is the team leader in assists with three. The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 win over No. 15 ranked Washburn this past week.
Northeastern State enters the week at 10-5 overall and 4-5 in conference action. The Tigers and Riverhawks both have 6 wins apiece in their all-time history. The Tigers have not lost a matchup against the Riverhawks since 2019. They have won the last two meetings in Tahlequah in shutout fashion. The last eight matches between the teams have resulted in shutouts with five going the way of FHSU, two the way of NSU, and one scoreless draw. NSU enters the match two points behind FHSU in the conference standings.
Rogers State enters the week 2-10-3 overall and 1-5-3 in the MIAA. The teams have met four times in history with two ties and one win going to each team. FHSU claimed its first win in the series history last year 1-0 in Claremore. The match was originally scheduled for 1 p.m., but moved up due to weather forecasted for the Claremore area.
