Fort Hays State Men's Soccer is set to conclude its regular season with a key matchup at Newman University on Thursday (Nov. 7) at 7 p.m. Entering with a strong 10-3-3 overall record and 7-2-2 mark in conference play, the Tigers are positioned second in the GAC standings, trailing Southern Nazarene by a point.
 
This season, Fort Hays State has been a dominant offensive force, leading the GAC with 48 goals. Fifteen different Tigers have contributed to the goal scoring, with 
Bastian Carlman and 
Elias Ovelar Semeniuk combining for 15 goals to lead the team's attacking efforts. Fort Hays State also tops the nation in shots per match (19.5) and averages 8.3 shots on goal per match. Midfielder 
Tadhg Walsh has played a pivotal role, leading the nation with 13 assists and tallying a team-high 19 points. Defensively, the Tigers have been strong, allowing opponents only 7.7 shots per match and tying for the fewest goals conceded in the GAC with just 18 this season.
 
Newman, currently holding fourth place in the GAC at 5-4-1 and 8-7-1 overall, brings a strong offense into Thursday's contest. The Jets average 2.44 goals per match. Leading the charge is Alberto Romano, who tops the conference in shots and ranks second in goals with 12. The Jets are the GAC's second-highest scoring team with 39 goals. Newman is firmly set for the GAC Tournament.
 
Historically, Fort Hays State holds an 11-2 series lead, including a victory over the Jets at home earlier this season.
