Fort Hays State Women's Soccer hits the road for the first time in MIAA play this weekend, looking to rebound from a challenging home stand that featured a scoreless draw against Missouri Southern and a narrow 1-0 loss to Pittsburg State. FHSU plays at Central Missouri on Friday (Oct. 3), then Emporia State on Sunday (Oct. 5). The Tigers enter the weekend at 2-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the MIAA.

FHSU opens the weekend Friday night at No. 10 ranked Central Missouri, a perennially strong program nationally and in the MIAA. The Jennies are 4-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the MIAA. Their losses this season were to top-5 nationally ranked teams. Mikayla Ernst leads the offensive attack for UCM, already with 20 points this season (9 goals, 2 assists) leading the MIAA by a wide margin.

On Sunday, the Tigers face and Emporia State team holding a 5-3 overall record and 2-0 mark in MIAA play so far. Ella Favot leads the Hornets with eight points, all on four goals which also leads the team. The Hornets have yielded goals in six of eight matches this year with just two shutouts, but allowed two or more in just two contests.

Sydney Cotter and Chaley French have paced the Tigers offense this year with four goals each. Cotter is the team leader in points with 11 by adding three assists to her goals this year. Hadley Ostrander holds a .767 save percentage with 23 stops this year. FHSU has three shutouts this year.
