Mark Johnson, who enters his 25
th season guiding the Tigers. Johnson has an overall record of 473-230 at FHSU. Fort Hays State has made the NCAA Division II National Tournament the last two years and a total of nine times under Johnson.
A unique opportunity for fans this year is seeing the Tigers two days in a row inside Allen Fieldhouse. The FHSU Women's Basketball team takes on the University of Kansas the following night (Wed. Oct. 29) at 6:30 p.m. inside Allen Fieldhouse.
There is no admission charge for the women's game. The FHSU women are coming off a 28-5 season in 2024-25 and a semifinal appearance in the NCAA Central Regional. It was their ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the last 11 years. Talia Kahrs enters her third year as head coach of the Tigers with an overall record of 53-13. Kansas had a record of 16-14 overall in 2024-25. They are led by 11th year head coach Brandon Schneider, who is 143-163 at Kansas. He has a career record of 544-301, going into his 28th year of coaching. Schneider was formerly a head coach at Emporia State from 1998-2010.
Season tickets for the upcoming FHSU Men's and Women's Basketball seasons are also available at the FHSU Athletics Office. The schedules feature 17 home dates with 10 doubleheaders (women and men). Choose among three ticket options available. Reserved lower-level seats (limited amount remaining) are $255, reserved upper-level seats are $135, and general admission upper-level seats are $125.
