The Fort Hays State volleyball team will play its final four games of the 2025 regular season at home starting this weekend (Nov. 7-8) when the Tigers host a pair of in-state rivals. FHSU will first battle Emporia State on Friday beginning at 6 p.m. before taking on No. 6 Washburn on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

The Tigers enter the weekend 15-9 overall, their highest win total since 2016, and 4-8 in MIAA play. Emporia State heads to Hays 18-5 on the year and 9-3 in league action, while the sixth-ranked Ichabods are 21-2 this season and tied for first place in the MIAA standings at 10-2.

Both the Hornets and Ichabods are listed as under consideration for selection into the 2025 NCAA Division II Central Regional. The MIAA has six of the 10 teams currently in the mix for regional competition.

Fort Hays State currently sits in a tie for seventh place in the MIAA standings with Pittsburg State, one game clear of Missouri Southern and Arkansas-Fort Smith. The top eight teams at the end of the regular season will clinch a spot in the 2025 MIAA Championship Tournament, set for November 20-22 in St. Joseph, Mo.

The Tigers are hitting .205 as a team this season, their best team attack percentage in nearly a decade (.235 in 2016). Seven different hitters in the well-balanced attack average at least 1.5 kills per set, led by
Gracie Rains' 2.78 kills per frame.
Abrey Galt is leading the way with 6.15 assists per set, with
Annie Eaton contributing 2.94 assists per frame and
Caiya Stucky Reyes dishing out 1.96 assists per stanza.

Four Tigers are averaging at least two digs per set, including libero
Kirsten Evans' team-best 3.79 digs per set.
Ashlyn Reeves leads the squad with 73 blocks on the year, averaging 0.88 per set.

Emporia State is in the middle of a five-match road trip, losing two of its last three contests. While the Hornets are 18-5 overall, they are just 4-3 in true road matches. ESU ranks 27th in Division II with 2.32 blocks per set. ESU's Delainee Dexter leads the conference with an average of 0.46 aces per frame.

Emporia State leads in the all-time series, 67-33. The Hornets have won each of the last five meetings after FHSU had won four of six meetings between 2019 and 2022. The Tigers are 4-9 against the Hornets under
Jessica Wood-Atkins.

Washburn's offense ranks first in Division II with an attack percentage of .297, while the Ichabod defense is 14th in the country with an average of 2.49 blocks per set. Bella Limback leads the nation with a swing rate of .493, while Austin Broadie is third in the MIAA with an average of 3.30 kills per stanza.

The Ichabods hold a slim 57-54 lead in the all-time series, including wins in each of the last three meetings. The Tigers are 1-12 against Washburn under Wood-Atkins.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will wrap up the regular season next week (Nov. 13-14) when No. 20 Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State come to town on Thursday and Friday, respectively. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in both matches.
