The Fort Hays State men's and women's track and field teams will compete once more before the holiday break when they travel to Kearney, Neb. for the UNK Pre-Holiday Classic on Friday (Dec. 12).

Field events are slated to begin at 3 p.m., with action on the track scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. Live results will be available

The Tigers currently have 73 entries on the starting list, primarily in sprints, mid-distance and jumps. FHSU student-athletes are slated to compete in the 60m, 60m hurdles, 600y, 800m, mile, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault and shot put.

Fort Hays State has competed in this event all but one year since 2019. FHSU totaled four national qualifying marks and 11 first place finishes at last year's UNK Pre-Holiday Classic.

Tiger athletes racked up three national qualifying marks on the opening weekend of the season.
Katie Linenberger currently ranks fourth nationally in the high jump, clearing 5-8.5 to rank third on the FHSU DII era performance chart.
Drew Tolar totaled 4,866 points in the heptathlon at the Boo Rogers Combined Events, ninth-most in DII this year and fifth-most at FHSU during the DII era.
Mason Younger also cleared the national qualifying threshold, doing so in the pole vault with a clearance of 15-11 to rank 13th in Division II so far this season.
