MANHATTAN, Kan. – Competing against Division I talent at the Steve Miller Invitational, Fort Hays State's pole vaulters showcased their talent on a big stage, as all three competitors cleared NCAA Division II provisional marks at Friday's (Feb. 2) meet in Manhattan, Kan.
On the women's side,
Annabeth Baalmann delivered a strong performance, clearing 12-10.25 to claim 10th place. The mark secured her a provisional qualification, adding another strong result to her season resume.For the men,
Josiah Ball and
Brady Deges each soared over 16-0.50, finishing in a tie for 10th place. Both vaulters secured NCAA provisional status with their marks, while Ball notched his personal best.
The Steve Miller Invitational, hosted by Kansas State, featured strong competition from Division I programs, making the trio's performances even more significant. With all three vaulters hitting provisional marks, the Tigers continue to establish themselves as a force in the MIAA. They will look to build on this momentum this coming week as they prepare for the 10th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
