The No. 23 ranked Fort Hays State Men's Soccer team will kick off its 2025 campaign with a match at Rockhurst University on Thursday, September 4, at 4 p.m. The Tigers follow that with a trip to MSU Denver on Sunday, September 7, at 3:30 p.m. CT (2:30 p.m. MT). FHSU is coming off a successful 13-4-4 season in 2024, when they advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers return several key contributors from a successful 2024 season, including standout midfielder Tadhg Walsh, who started every match he played. Walsh led the team in assists with 15, ranking second in all of NCAA Division II, while adding five goals for the season. He led NCAA Division II in assists entering the national tournament last year. He earned D2CCA All-America Second Team honors.

The team's leading goal scorer from 2024, Elias Ovelar Semeniuk, returns after putting nine balls in the net on 44 total shots for the season. His consistent offensive production was instrumental in the Tigers' success last season. The Tigers also return the second-leading goal scorer on the team from 2024 in Bastian Carlman. He scored eight goals, while adding two assists. Defensive veterans Jackson Elgas and Harrison Bensouda return after starting every game they played in last season.

The Tigers had an 8-2-2 mark in Great American Conference (GAC) play last year, falling just one point shy of a conference regular season title that was shared by Southern Nazarene and Rogers State. However, the Tigers went on to win the conference tournament, securing an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the opening round FHSU defeated Davenport 1-0, but fell in the Round of 32 on a late comeback by McKendree, which forced overtime and won 3-2 on its home field. McKendree went on to reach the national semifinals.

Rockhurst finished the 2024 season with a 6-9-2 overall record, going 6-6-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). Despite a sub-.500 record, the Hawks led the GLVC in goals per game with an average of 1.824, and posted 13.4 shots per game. Rockhurst was led offensively by Luke Bone, Dallas Baer, and Zack Williams, who each netted four goals on the season.
MSU Denver wrapped up its 2024 campaign with a 7-8-4 overall record and a 4-4-2 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The Roadrunners averaged 12.1 shots per game, ranking sixth in the RMAC, and scored 1.42 goals per contest.
