The Fort Hays State men's and women's indoor track and field teams will be compete at three events in three different states this weekend (Jan. 30-31). The Tigers will send student-athletes to Topeka, Kan. for the Washburn Open Friday and Saturday, to Kearney, Neb. for the Charlie Foster Classic on Friday and to Boston, Mass. for the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday.

Emily Diercks McCullough is the lone Tiger that will head to the east coast to compete in the 5,000m run at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic. The women's 5K is set to begin at 5:40 p.m. (6:40 p.m. ET) on Friday. Live video will be available with a subscription

The Tigers will send 36 individuals to compete in 44 entries at the Washburn Open, including 18 individuals and 21 entries from the women's team and 18 individuals and 23 entries from the men's squad. Live video from Topeka will be available with a subscription to

FHSU will send 40 Tigers north to compete in 70 entries at the Charlie Foster Classic. The women's team will send 18 individuals to compete in 33 entries, while the men have entered 22 individuals to compete in 37 entries. Live results will be

The Tiger women head into the weekend ranked 20th in Division II according to the initial release of the USTFCCCA Track and Field Rating Index. The Tigers have two individuals that rank inside the top three in the country in their respective disciplines.

The Tigers have recorded six national qualifying performances so far this season, including four from the men's team and two from the women's squad.
Annabeth Baalmann is the national leader in the women's pole vault thanks to her school-record clearance of 14-1.25 last month.
Katie Linenberger is third in the country in the high jump after surpassing the bar at 5-9.25 earlier this season.

The men have four national qualifying marks, including
Drew Tolar who ranks 17th in DII in the heptathlon with a top point total of 4,866 and three in the pole vault in
Mason Younger (23rd, 16-0.75),
Brady Deges (32nd, 15-10) and
Josiah Ball (32nd, 15-10).
The Tigers competed at both the Washburn Open and the Charlie Foster Classic last season, with FHSU claiming five national qualifying marks in Topeka and securing four event victories in Kearney.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will be off next week before returning to competition February 13-14 at the 11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
