The Fort Hays State men's wrestling team competes at home for the first time in two months on Saturday (Feb. 7) when the Tigers host top-ranked Central Oklahoma. The conference dual is slated to begin at 2 p.m. inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The Tigers will also send eight student-athletes to compete at the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. in Marshall, Mo.

Fort Hays State head into the weekend 3-7 in dual action and 1-1 in MIAA competition, while the Bronchos are 13-1 overall and 2-0 in league action.

197-pound starter
Ryan Patterson ranks second on the team with 17 wins this season, turning in a record of 17-7 overall. The Peyton, Colo. native is 9-1 in dual action while leading the team with 13 wins against Division II opponents. His five technical falls are also the most on the squad.

165-pounder
Cason Lindsey holds the top winning percentage on the team, claiming victory in 10 of his 13 bouts this season for a win rate of .769. Six of his 10 wins have been bonus-point victories, including three pins and three major decisions.

Cash Thomas at 157 pounds is tied for third on the team with 10 bonus-point victories, including four pins, four technical falls and two major decisions. His quickest pin of 22 seconds is second-fastest on the team this season.

Central Oklahoma is ranked first in the latest NWCA Division II Coaches Poll, with the Bronchos featuring nine ranked wrestlers.

Fort Hays State is 4-40 in series history against the Bronchos, with the last Tiger win coming in 2014.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will grapple once more at home next Friday (Feb. 13) when FHSU hosts second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney. The Tigers will honor six seniors before action begins at 7 p.m.
