Loewe, Stearns, Lowe Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

College Sports Communicators released its Academic All-District selections for women's basketball on Tuesday (Mar. 24). Fort Hays State had three student-athletes receive the honor, including Brooke Loewe, Ellie Stearns, and Avery Lowe. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.
 
To be considered for Academic All-District selection, an individual must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better, and compete in 90 percent of the team's contests or start at least 66 percent of contests at the time of nomination.
 
Loewe earned the honor for a second-straight year, while Stearns and Lowe earned the honor for the first time.
 
Loewe was an All-MIAA First Team selection in 2025-26. She set a new MIAA and FHSU record for assists in a single season (310) and assists per game (10.0). The 310 assists is the second most for a single season in NCAA Division II history. With a 10.0 assists per game average, she became the first NCAA Division II player in 29 years to average double figures in assists for a season. She had at least 10 assists in 16 games and 17 was her season high, also a new FHSU record. To go with her national-leading assist marks, she averaged a solid 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Loewe finished her four-year career at FHSU with 785 points, 698 assists, 395 rebounds, and 183 steals. Loewe is in her first year of working on her MBA as a graduate student and she earned her bachelor's degree in Management from Fort Hays State in 2025. She had a 3.79 undergraduate GPA and currently holds a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student.
 
Stearns wrapped up a solid four-year career at Fort Hays State in 2025-26, averaging 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as a senior. She ranked second on the team in 3-point field goals made with 52, and her 142 career 3-point field goals made tied for sixth-best in FHSU women's basketball history. She scored in double figures 10 times throughout the 2025-26 season, producing a season-high 20 points in a win over MSU Denver. She finished her career with 651 points, 405 rebounds, 170 assists, and 107 steals. Stearns is a Nursing major at Fort Hays State, holding a 3.89 GPA.
 
Lowe was a consistent starter for the Tigers in 2025-26. She averaged 4.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game for the season. She scored in double figures four times, including a season-high 14 points in a road win at Northwest Missouri State. Her season high in rebounds was nine at Central Missouri. Lowe has 191 career points and 122 career rebounds over two years at FHSU. She is a Communication Sciences and Disorders major at FHSU, holding a 3.75 GPA.
