Women's Golf Places 12th at MIAA Championships

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Fort Hays State women's golf team placed 12th at the 2026 MIAA Championships this week (April 20-22) at Mules National Golf Course, a par-70, 5,808-yard layout. High winds, thick rough and fast greens elevated scores across the entire field, with the winning team coming in at 67-over par and the winning individual completing the three rounds at 12-over.

The Tigers finished the week at 139-over after rounds of 330 on days one and two and a round of 319 in the final round. That third-round score was the team's second-lowest score this season. FHSU finished 49 shots clear of Newman and just one shot back of 11th-place Pittsburg State.

Avery Blasi led the team all three days, cracking the top 20 at 22-over par following rounds of 78, 77 and 77 to finish in a tie for 17th place. The sophomore tied for first with six birdies across the 54 holes, carding a pair of birdies in each round. She also finished the week with only two double bogeys, tied for second-fewest in the entire field.

Kiley Maier finished in a tie for 36th place at 33-over after posting FHSU's second-best score in each round, firing an 81 in round one, an 83 in round two and a 79 in round three. She collected three birdies on the week, recording one each day.

Hayden York turned in scores of 83, 85 and 81 to finish the week at 39-over, good for a tie for 45th place. Alexis Elliott improved each day, firing rounds of 88, 85 and 82 to place 52nd at 45-over.

Brynn Ray played in the first two rounds at the five-bag, posting scores of 96 and 97 before Emma Walz subbed in for the final 18-hole stretch. The sophomore posted a round of 93, including a birdie on the par-3 18th hole that features an island green.

Nebraska-Kearney took home the team championship, defeating Washburn by two shots, while Northeastern State's Jessica Parker secured the individual title following rounds of 73, 73 and 76.
