MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – Fort Hays State Women's Golf placed 17^th at the Spring Region Preview, hosted by Central Missouri at the Shangri-La Country Club. The course was a par-72 layout. FHSU posted scores of 333, 333, and 323.
 
Avery Blasi was the top finisher for FHSU in 54^th, shooting 21-over par overall. She had rounds of 82, 80, and 75. In her 3-over par final round, she posted three of her four birdies for the tournament.
 
Alexis Elliott finished at +24 with rounds of 78, 84, and 78, placing 62^nd. She had six birdies overall with three in the first round and three in the third round. Hayden York was +27 overall with rounds of 78, 82, and 83, placing 67^th. She had three birdies.
 
Brynn Ray was +54 overall (95, 88, 87), while Emma Walz was +57 overall (99, 87, 87). Both had two birdies in the tournament.
 
Arkansas Tech was the tournament as a team by 10 strokes with a total of 882. Central Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State tied for second at 892. Clara Peake of Northwest Missouri State won the tournament at 5-under par. She was one of three golfers in the field to finish under par overall.
 
The Tigers play in the MIAA Championships in two weeks, held April 20-22 at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Mo.
